Bengaluru: Postman, an enterprise application programming interface (API) management platform, has acquired Orbit, a tool used by developer companies to build online communities across multiple platforms.
Orbit will integrate with Platform and add community-focused features to the latter’s Public API Network. This will promote collaboration between publishers and consumers. Orbit is known for helping developer companies manage communities on platforms like Discord, Slack, and GitHub.
Postman is valued at $5.6 billion and is among India’s top software-as-a-service (SaaS) startups. It serves over 30 million developers and 500,000 organisations with its API collaboration platform.
Noah Schwartz, who recently joined Postman from Amazon Web Services, will lead the Orbit team. They’ll assist API distributors in growing communities, enhancing API usage, and gathering user feedback. This integration aims to make it easier for developers to discover APIs, engage with peers, and maximise API benefits.
