New Delhi: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas recently announced the appointment of IAS officer Sujata Sharma as the Government Nominee Director to the board of Indian Oil Corporation Limited. She is currently serving as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG).
Sharma is a 2006-batch IAS officer from the Andhra Pradesh cadre. She went through an inter-cadre deputation from her home cadre to the Uttar Pradesh cadre for a period of three years, during which she served as the Secretary of the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department in Uttar Pradesh and Managing Director of the Pradeshiya Industrial and Investment Corporation of UP Limited (PICUP).
In her home cadre, Sharma served as the Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes in Hyderabad, as District Collector in Prakasam, Andhra Pradesh, and as the Special Commissioner of Collegiate Education & Technical Education, and Health & Family Welfare in Andhra Pradesh.
Sharma’s appointment was disclosed by Indian Oil through a regulatory filing to the stock exchange and became effective from May 11. She has a Law degree and a Ph.D. in Botany.
