New Delhi: Power Mech Projects Ltd (PMPL) has secured an order worth Rs 563 crore from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) to build a nuclear power plant, the project and infrastructure construction company announced on Wednesday.
In a regulatory filing, PMPL informed that it is their first construction project in the nuclear power sector. They will handle the civil, structural, and architectural works at the Kaiga Atomic Power Project in Karnataka, for the turbine island package of the 2×700 MWe PHWR (Pressurized Heavy-Water Reactor).
PMPL will construct a turbine generator building, equipment foundations, chemical lab, storage tanks, peripheral drains, and sewage network over 32 months, with an additional 12-month guarantee period.
