IAS Saurabh Garg becomes Secretary, MoSPI; IAS Amit Yadav takes over as Secretary, Social Justice Department

New Delhi: The Government has posted two IAS officers as Secretaries at the Centre. IAS officer Saurabh Garg has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI). A 1991 IAS officer from the Odisha cadre, he is currently serving as the Secretary in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. He will serve in this post until his retirement on July 31, 2024, after which he will remain on a one-year contract, also acting as Secretary of the National Statistical Commission.

IAS officer Amit Yadav has been appointed as the Secretary of the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment. He is a 1991 batch IAS officer from the AGMUT cadre. His tenure begins immediately, and he will serve in this post until further notice. He was previously serving as an Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.
