IAS Vishal Dev takes on extra role as Principal Secretary for Odisha’s Electronics & IT Department

Bhubaneshwar: IAS officer Vishal Dev, currently serving as the Chairman of GRIDCO and the Principal Secretary of Odisha’s Finance and Energy Departments, has been given additional responsibilities as the Principal Secretary of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of Odisha. The move was announced a week after IRTS Manoj Kumar (2000 batch) resigned from the post.

Dev completed his studies at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), BHU in Varanasi in 1990, receiving a degree in Computer Science and Engineering. At the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow, he also studied management. Dev spent almost three years working in corporate before enlisting in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1996.

In his new role, Dev will concentrate on projects that increase internet access and encourage digital literacy and improve online government services across the state.
