Bengaluru: Manoj Jain has taken charge as the new Chairman and Managing Director of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). He joined BEL as a probationary engineer in August 1991 and had an impressive career spanning more than three decades and made major contributions to the field of research and development.
Throughout his initial years in D&E at BEL’s Kotdwara Unit, Manoj Jain played a critical role in the development of Digital Multiplexers, Cross Connects, CDOT Exchanges, and Military Switches. He relocated to BEL’s Central Research Laboratory in Bangalore in 1999, where he worked on developing technologies for bulk security solutions, networks, and defence networks. He worked on the creation of VeXT, Scan Converter, and Display using FPGA in the field of Radar, one of BEL’s primary business operations. Prior to his appointment as Director (R&D), he was General Manager of the Electronic Warfare and Avionics SBU at BEL’s Bangalore Complex, which he took over in June 2021.
In addition, he was CRL-Bangalore’s Chief Scientist from December 2017 to May 2019, and in June of that same year, he was appointed General Manager of BEL’s Product Development and Innovation Centre (PD&IC).
