New Delhi: MasterCard and CERT-In have partnered to advance collaboration and information exchange in the field of financial sector cyber security. The two organisations have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) whereby they will pool their combined knowledge of the financial sector to address cybersecurity incidents, develop capacity, exchange financial sector-specific cyber threat intelligence, and do sophisticated malware analysis.
Under the terms of their agreement, MasterCard and CERT-In will host workshops and training sessions aimed at enhancing cyber capacity, showcasing current market trends, and highlighting best practices to improve the cyber security of financial sector enterprises. The two organisations will also exchange technical data, threat intelligence, vulnerability reports, and pertinent cyber threat trends in order to improve India’s banking sector information security.
The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) is a government organisation that reports to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in India. Section 70B of the Information Technology Act of 2000 designates CERT-In as the National agency for incident response.
