New Delhi: The Central Government has named Atul Chaudhary to be the new TRAI secretary. He was appointed following the retirement of V Raghunandan last month. He oversaw the execution of telecom projects, the enforcement of policies, and telecom compliance in various national areas.
Prior to this, Chaudhary worked for the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) as deputy director general (DDG). In 2021, he also held the same role at the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Atul Chaudhary held a variety of positions in BSNL and DoT’s personnel, human resources, administration, licencing, and vigilance departments. He holds a diploma in public policy and administration from the Indian Institute of Public Administration, is a graduate of IIT Roorkee, and is a member of the 1989 batch of Indian Telecommunication Services (ITS) officers.
