Hyderabad: Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced plans to expand its data center infrastructure in Hyderabad to enhance its artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities in India. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for AI-driven services across various sectors, including healthcare, finance, and e-commerce, as businesses increasingly adopt AI technologies to innovate and optimize operations.
The Hyderabad data center, part of AWS’s Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region, will see significant upgrades in computing power and storage capacity. These enhancements are designed to support more advanced AI workloads, such as generative AI models, large-scale data analytics, and real-time processing. The expansion aligns with AWS’s broader strategy to make AI more accessible to businesses of all sizes in India, enabling them to harness the power of AI without the need for extensive infrastructure investments. AWS’s Hyderabad facility, one of the largest in the region, already plays a critical role in the company’s global network, providing low-latency, high-availability cloud services to customers across India and neighboring countries. The expansion is expected to further improve service reliability and performance, particularly for AI and ML applications that require vast amounts of data and computational resources.
In addition to boosting AI capabilities, the expansion will also support AWS’s sustainability initiatives. The company plans to integrate more renewable energy sources into the data center’s operations, contributing to its goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
