New Delhi: Cummins India, a provider of power solutions technology has announced the appointment of Shveta Arya as the new Managing Director of, was announced on Tuesday. The appointment will take effect on September 1, 2024.
In a statement, Cummins India announced that she will succeed Ashwath Ram, who will continue to serve the company until August 31. Arya has been appointed as an additional director and Managing Director (Designate) by the company’s board of directors, effective August 8. She will take up the full-time role as the MD effective September 1, subject to approval of shareholders, it said. Currently, she is responsible for the power system division at Cummins India, a position she will maintain even after she is appointed MD.
Arya has over 20 years of experience in industry and management consulting in the automotive, travel, financial services, and telecom sectors. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology engineering from Delhi University and a Master’s degree from IIM, Ahmedabad. According to the statement, she was previously affiliated with Thomas Cook, Kearney, and Infosys before becoming the chief of strategy at Cummins in 2016.
