New Delhi: Punjab National Bank (PNB) has launched the PNB ANTAH DRISHTI Braille Debit Card specifically designed for visually impaired customers. This National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) debit card is available on the Rupay network. The initiative aims to enhance financial inclusion and independence for visually impaired individuals.
Some of the significant features of this debit card are:
- The brand name ‘PNB’ is crafted in braille, making it convenient for the individual to differentiate between PNB and other bank cards
- The card has a rounded notch on the opposite side of the chip for the customer to know about the direction of the card while inserting it into the ATM
- The debit card has a glossy spot UV lamination effect, a raised texture on the bank’s logo, and a silk screen rough spot UV on the contactless symbol. This will help the cardholder to identify the bank’s logo easily and read the card’s contactless symbols.
- The card has a unique appearance with contrasting colors which will enhance the readability of the card for the visually impaired customer.
The cash withdrawal limit for the card at ATMs is set to Rs. 25,000 per day and at PoS, Rs. 60,000 per day. Individuals can make contactless transactions without using their PIN for up to Rs. 5000 per day at NFC-enabled PoS terminals. All visually impaired customers who have a savings or current account in PNB are eligible to obtain this debit card from their nearest PNB branch.
