Gujarat: Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), dedicated to transportation and logistics, has launched the Centre of Excellence in Transport Safety (CoETS), backed by the Ministry of Railways. This initiative aims to address critical safety challenges in India’s transportation sector, focusing on infrastructure, management, and regulatory reforms.
Despite advancements, India continues to face significant safety issues, with road accidents disproportionately affecting young adults and ongoing safety concerns in rail transport. The CoETS at GSV seeks to shift from reactive to proactive safety measures by leveraging data-driven insights. This Centre will play a key role in enhancing the multimodal logistics ecosystem across all modes of transport, including rail, road, air, water, ports, and shipping.
The establishment of CoETS at GSV represents a major stride towards improving the safety and efficiency of India’s transportation network, addressing both current challenges and future needs.
