Mumbai: The Ministry of Tourism has announced the appointment of Mugdha Sinha as the new Director General of Tourism. She is an IAS officer from the 1999 Rajasthan batch. She takes over from Manisha Saxena who moved on to become the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Personnel Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training. She was the Ministry of Cultures Joint Secretary before being appointed to this position.
The objectives of this action are :
- Supporting governance frameworks
- Improving policy implementation in various sectors
Providing innovative plans and tactics to highlight India’s tourism potential and rich cultural legacy.
Sinha has a wealth of knowledge in international relations culture and governance and is anticipated to provide new insights to the Ministry of Tourism. Through the appointment of Mugdha Sinha and other seasoned officials to such important roles the government hopes to boost development and accomplish its policy goals with great efficiency.
