Noida: In line with India’s vision of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, the French aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation is set to establish a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility near Noida. The facility named Dassault Aviation Maintenance Repair and Overhaul India (DAMROI) will provide support to the French-origin fighter jets in the Indian Air Force including Rafale and Mirage 2000. The operations for the same are expected to begin in the next six months.
The Indian Air Force currently operates a fleet of 36 Rafales, which were inducted in the last few years. In addition, 50 Mirage 2000s are also operational, which were inducted in the 1980s.
Going forward, Dassault also plans to scale up MRO activities at DAMROI in collaboration with the Indian aeronautical industrial ecosystem, thereby enhancing the scope of support for fighter aircraft of French origin.
