Mumbai: The Adani Group announced in its recent quarterly and half-year financial update that the new Navi Mumbai Airport is set to begin operations in the first half of 2025.
Adani Airports has launched a new airport with a 3,700-metre runway, advanced terminals, and modern air traffic control systems. The airport is expected to handle up to 20 million passengers annually in its initial phase, with a projected capacity of 90 million passengers per year. In addition to the new airport, Adani Airports has expanded its network with six new routes, six additional airlines, and 13 new flights across its seven operational airports.
The Adani Group recently achieved a significant milestone in its development by successfully managing the landing of an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft on its new runway. The landing, which took place earlier this month, marks a significant step forward for the company’s air infrastructure capabilities.
Adani Group has ventured into the civil aviation industry through its fully-owned subsidiary, Adani Airport Holdings. The company has successfully won bids to operate six airports located in Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati, and Thiruvananthapuram. This move has positioned the company to manage 25% of India’s passenger footfall.
