New Delhi: Rajesh Kumar Singh has taken over as the Defence Secretary of India. He has succeeded the incumbent Giridhar Aramane who has retired from the service.
Singh is an IAS Officer of the 1989 batch belonging to the Kerala cadre. Before taking charge as the Defence Secretary, he served as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Ministry of Defence.
Previously, Singh held charge as the Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Before that, he was the Secretary of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying.
