New Delhi: Indian Bank and the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to introduce corporate salary packages for UPSRTC employees. The initiative aims to streamline financial benefits for government transport workers in Uttar Pradesh.
The MoU was formalized at a ceremony attended by Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Daya Shankar Singh, Indian Bank Executive Director Brajesh Kumar Singh, and UPSRTC Managing Director Masoom Ali Sarwar. Other key officials, including Principal Secretary Venkateshwarlu and Indian Bank Chief General Manager Sudhir Kumar Gupta, were also present.
Under the partnership, Indian Bank will provide UPSRTC employees with benefits such as insurance coverage of up to ₹1 crore, free banking services, and premium ATM card access. While these perks are part of the package, the broader aim is to strengthen banking services for public sector employees and explore extending similar offerings to other government departments.
The partnership also coincides with Indian Bank’s announcement to set up 600 temporary changing rooms for women pilgrims during the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj. Additionally, the Transport Minister inaugurated three new ATMs at Banda, Hamirpur, and Mahoba bus depots during the event, which is expected to improve access to banking services for UPSRTC employees and passengers.
Indian Bank, with a strong presence in Uttar Pradesh through its 1,081 branches and over 6,000 customer touchpoints, continues to focus on enhancing accessibility for public-sector employees. The bank’s network and ongoing plans to introduce new digital banking services are part of its strategy to address the growing financial needs of its customer base.
This partnership highlights a strategic move to improve public sector employee benefits while supporting financial inclusion and accessibility in government operations.
