New Delhi: ServiceNow has appointed Ganesh Lakshminarayanan as its Managing Director (MD) and Group Vice President (GVP) for India and SAARC business, effective January 6, 2025. The move signals the company’s focus on expanding its footprint in India, a critical market for its growth strategy in digital transformation.
Ganesh, who previously served as CEO of Airtel’s domestic B2B business, brings extensive experience in leadership roles, including his tenure as President and MD of Dell India. His appointment comes as ServiceNow aims to strengthen its market position and meet rising demand for digital solutions in India and the SAARC region.
Detlef Krause, President of APAC at ServiceNow, highlighted India as a “key priority” for the company. Ganesh’s leadership is expected to drive the next phase of growth and innovation in a dynamic market like India.
“India is a critical market for ServiceNow, and I’m excited to lead the team through its next chapter of growth,” Ganesh said. He will be based in Bengaluru and oversee business operations across India and neighboring regions.
India plays a significant role in ServiceNow’s global operations. Its India Technology and Business Centre, led by Sumeet Mathur, contributes substantially to the company’s product development and innovation. The center is the largest outside the US, driving over 40% of ServiceNow’s global product engineering efforts. Additionally, more than 20% of ServiceNow’s global workforce is based in India, including a significant proportion of engineers.
Ganesh’s appointment underscores ServiceNow’s intent to leverage India as both a market and a technological hub, further solidifying the country’s role in the company’s growth strategy.
