New Delhi: Veranda Learning Solutions, NSDC, and the Institute of Accountants and Bookkeepers (IAB), UK, have partnered to bring out the Certified International Accounting Professional (CIAP) program in India. This six-month program aims to provide commerce students with globally recognized accounting and bookkeeping skills, specifically tailored to meet the growing demands of India’s Outsourced Accounting Services (OAS) sector.
The CIAP program, developed in collaboration with IAB, is designed to address the skills gap in India’s accounting and finance sectors. With the global Finance and Accounting Business Process Outsourcing (F&A BPO) market projected to reach $134.65 billion by 2032, the program positions itself as a key credential for commerce students looking to pursue careers in this rapidly expanding industry. India’s established role as a hub for global outsourcing, particularly in the accounting and finance space, is expected to create a steady demand for professionals with such qualifications.
The partnership leverages Veranda Learning’s educational expertise and NSDC’s extensive network to ensure the program is accessible to a wide range of students across India. Veranda will provide infrastructure and student support, while NSDC will facilitate financial assistance options, including loans, to ensure the program is attainable for all eligible candidates.
India’s increasing dominance in global outsourcing is reflected in the steady rise of Global Capability Centres (GCCs), which are expanding beyond metropolitan areas into Tier-2 cities like Pune and Coimbatore. As India’s GCCs grow in number, so does the demand for a skilled workforce. This is where the CIAP program aims to make a significant impact, preparing students to meet the specific needs of the OAS sector.
According to industry reports, India now hosts over 1,700 GCCs, employing 1.9 million professionals and generating $64.6 billion in revenue in FY2024. The country is on track to add 320 new GCCs by 2025, underscoring the need for more skilled professionals in finance and accounting.
By offering a globally recognized certification, the CIAP program aligns with the industry’s needs and prepares students for high-growth careers in the international accounting and finance sector.
