Gandhinagar: In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Gujarat government has announced the transfers and fresh postings of two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to key positions in the state administration. As per the official order, IAS Mona Khandhar (1996 batch) has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Science and Technology Department. She was previously serving as the Principal Secretary of the Panchayats, Rural Housing, and Rural Development Department. Notably, Khandhar was already holding additional charge of the Science and Technology Department, and this transfer now formalizes her role.
Another transfer involves IAS Manisha Chandra (2004 batch) taking charge as the Secretary of the Panchayats, Rural Housing, and Rural Development Department. She replaces Khandhar in this role while continuing to hold her current responsibilities as Commissioner of Rural Development and Secretary of the Rural Development Department.
Both Khandhar and Chandra bring extensive administrative experience to their new roles. The Gujarat government expects these leadership changes to enhance the effectiveness of governance and further strengthen development initiatives in the state.
