Noida: Haier Appliances India has expanded its manufacturing footprint with the inauguration of a new Injection Molding facility and the groundbreaking of an advanced air conditioner (AC) manufacturing unit at its Greater Noida plant.
The move aligns with the government’s ‘Made in India, Made for India’ vision, aiming to boost local production, create jobs and enhance India’s position in global manufacturing.
The ceremony was led by Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Haier India President NS Satish. The company has committed over Rs 1,000 crore in additional investments between 2024 and 2028, which will generate 3,500 new jobs and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
With the new AC factory, Haier’s production capacity will increase from 1.5 million to 4 million units annually, while the Injection Molding facility will improve in-house component production, reducing import dependencies and ensuring faster production cycles.
Currently, 90 per cent of Haier’s appliances sold in India are locally manufactured, and the expansion will further support domestic and export demand.
Manoj Kumar Singh highlighted the importance of this investment, stating that it reinforces Uttar Pradesh’s collaboration with global manufacturers and strengthens India’s manufacturing sector. Haier India President NS Satish emphasized that the expansion underscores the company’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, driving innovation and job creation.
Haier began its manufacturing journey in India in 2007 with a facility in Pune and expanded to Uttar Pradesh in 2019. The company has already invested Rs 1,400 crore in the state between 2019 and 2023, directly employing 3,500 people.
With its latest expansion, Haier continues to reinforce its leadership in India’s home appliances sector while supporting economic growth and employment.
