Lucknow, May 6 (APAC Media): The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved a series of major policy decisions and developmental projects during a cabinet meeting in Lucknow.Â
A total of 29 proposals were cleared, covering areas such as administrative reforms, education, industrial development, and infrastructure.Â
New Transfer Policy for Government Employees
Among the key decisions approved was the Transfer Policy 2026–27, which introduces new rules for the transfer of government employees across the state.
Under the policy, Group A and B officers who have completed three years in a district or seven years in a division will be eligible for transfer. The government has also capped transfers at 20 per cent for Group A and B officers, while up to 10 per cent of Group C and D employees can be shifted.
Transfers involving officers from Group A and Group B will require approval from the Chief Minister.Â
State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna stated that the policy aims to enhance transparency and improve administrative efficiency.
₹2,000 Crore DREAM Skill Labs Project Approved
The state cabinet also approved a major skill development initiative under the DREAM (Design, Robotics, Electronics, Additive Manufacturing) Skill Lab project.
The project will be implemented in partnership with Tata Group’s Nelco Network Products Limited and will involve an investment of around ₹2,000 crore.Â
As part of the initiative, DREAM Skill Labs will be set up in 150 government schools across Uttar Pradesh. The first phase of the project will cover all 18 divisions of the state and focus on technical training, innovation, and industry-oriented skills for students.
Textile Parks and Power Infrastructure Projects Cleared
The state cabinet has also approved the setting up of textile parks in Amroha; Baheri in Bareilly; Maghar in Sant Kabir Nagar; and Bijnor. The move is expected to support industrial growth and generate employment opportunities in the textile sector.
