New Delhi: The extensive records of Lok Sabha debates will now contribute to India’s artificial intelligence ecosystem, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the IndiaAI Mission and the Lok Sabha.
Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the collaboration on 18 March, highlighting its significance in advancing AI-driven language models and research.
Under this initiative, the Lok Sabha’s vast repository of parliamentary debates, spanning multiple Indian languages, will be made available on the AI Kosha: IndiaAI Datasets Platform.
The structured data will play a crucial role in developing AI Kosha, a comprehensive linguistic resource aimed at supporting AI applications, researchers, policymakers, and academicians.
The AI Kosha, a key pillar of the IndiaAI Mission, is designed to improve access to public sector datasets, making them AI-ready. It serves as a unified platform integrating datasets from various sources, including non-governmental contributors, and incorporates advanced AI features.
Earlier this month, the government launched AI Kosha: IndiaAI Datasets Platform to provide seamless access to datasets, AI models and tools. This secure platform offers a repository of datasets, AI models and case studies to foster innovation.
It also includes AI sandbox capabilities, an integrated development environment, and educational resources.
AI Kosha is equipped with features such as dataset discoverability, AI readiness scoring, permission-based access, and robust security measures. These include encryption for data storage and transmission, secure APIs, and firewall protections against cyber threats.
With the Lok Sabha’s debates now integrated into the AI Kosha platform, researchers and policymakers will have unprecedented access to multilingual data, aiding in language processing advancements and facilitating translations of parliamentary records into various Indian languages.
