Silvassa: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the 450-bed Namo Hospital in Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, as part of a larger push to improve healthcare infrastructure in the region. The Rs 460 crore facility aims to enhance access to advanced medical care.
Hospital Inauguration and Infrastructure Push
During his visit, PM Modi reviewed the 3D model of the hospital and emphasized the government’s focus on strengthening healthcare services. The inauguration was part of a broader initiative, with the Prime Minister also launching multiple public welfare projects worth over Rs 2,500 crore. These included new hospitals, schools, and critical infrastructure aimed at improving public services.
AI-Powered Knee Replacement Robot Demonstrated
One of the key highlights of the event was the demonstration of Misso, India’s first AI-powered robotic system for knee replacement surgery. The robotic system, developed by Meril, was presented to the Prime Minister by the company’s CEO, Vivek Shah. The technology aims to improve surgical precision and patient recovery in orthopedic procedures.

PM Modi highlighted the significance of India’s progress in medical technology, stressing the need for self-reliance in advanced healthcare solutions.
