New Delhi: Gurugram-based startup accelerator Change Engine has announced a $5 million investment plan for early-stage AI startups in India. The accelerator aims to support six startups annually, focusing on AI innovations that cater to global markets.
Investment Strategy and Program Structure
Change Engine will provide an initial seed funding of $50,000 to each selected startup, with the potential for an additional $150,000 through syndication. Over the next five years, the initiative will back AI-driven ventures in machine learning technologies and business applications.
The accelerator’s six-month program will offer startups access to a sandbox environment for product development, along with mentorship from a network of global industry leaders. Change Engine’s Customer Advisory Board includes executives from companies like Amazon, Google, McKinsey, and Adobe.
Focus on AI Innovation from India
According to Change Engine Founder Varun Aggarwal, the program aims to foster the development of advanced AI products that go beyond basic automation. “Our focus is on building second-generation AI solutions, scalable and tailored innovations that address real-world challenges,” he said.
The accelerator’s investment strategy is designed to help startups refine their technology, validate ideas, and create market-ready products with guidance from experienced professionals.
AI Startups and India’s Growing Ecosystem
With increasing global interest in AI innovation from India, Change Engine’s investment aligns with broader efforts to strengthen the country’s position in the sector. The initiative reflects a growing trend where accelerators are not just funding startups but also providing structured support to help them scale.
As AI-driven businesses expand, industry experts see such funding initiatives as critical in bridging the gap between research and commercialization.
