Jammu: In a significant administrative overhaul, the government of Jammu & Kashmir has transferred 17 officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS). Among the notable transfers, IPS Uttam Chand (2002 batch) has been appointed as the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Police Operations and Services, at the Police Headquarters (PHQ).
Other notable transfers include:
- IPS Sarah Rizvi (2008 batch) has taken charge as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Udhampur-Reasi Range, replacing IPS Rayees Mohammad Bhat, who now serves as DIG CID Kashmir.
- IPS Sheikh Junaid Mehmood (2009 batch) is now awaiting posting.
- IPS Umesh Kumar (I2009 batch) has been made the new DIG Training PHQ.
- IPS Jatinder Singh Johar (2012 batch) has been appointed Director, Police Telecommunication.
- IPS Sanjeev Kumar Yadav (2013 batch) has been posted as Commandant, 3rd Bn IR.
- IPS Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (2013 batch) will serve as SSP Anantnag, replacing IPS G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, who has been transferred and posted as SSP Srinagar.
- IPS Ranjit Singh Sambyal (2013 batch) has been appointed SSP Traffic City Srinagar.
- IPS Sanjeev Kumar Khajuria (2014 batch) now leads the 1st Border Bn JKAP.
- IPS Amritpal Singh (2014 batch) becomes Principal PTTI Vijaypur.
- IPS Tanushree (2017 batch) becomes Superintendent of Police (SP) at SIA Headquarters.
- IPS Bisma Qazi (2017 batch) has been posted as Commandant, 2nd Women Bn JKAP.
- IPS Hareesh H. P. (2017 batch) has taken charge as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Welfare PHQ
- IPS Divya D. (2018 batch) has become SP SIA Kashmir
- IPS Ragav S. (2018 batch) has been made SP Tech CID HQ
The reshuffle aims to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen police administration across the Union Territory.
