New Delhi: In a significant move to promote Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in partnership with Intel, has launched a series of online Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) aimed at teachers of classes IX and X.
The first session was held in April, with the next scheduled to begin next week. These monthly workshops will continue through September 2025.
Empowering Teachers with AI Skills
The initiative is designed to equip CBSE teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to teach AI effectively. Participants will receive hands-on training in fundamental AI principles, machine learning basics, and real-world applications relevant to secondary-level learners. The programme adopts a practical approach, helping educators integrate AI concepts into everyday classroom teaching.
Industry Collaboration for Quality Education
Leveraging Intel’s technical expertise, the workshops offer access to industry-standard tools, educational platforms, and teaching methodologies. Teachers will be guided in developing lesson plans aligned with CBSE’s curriculum and will gain insights into ethical and safe AI instruction. The initiative also supports schools introducing AI as a skill subject with comprehensive resources and ongoing guidance.
Inclusive and Flexible Learning Format
The online format removes geographic limitations, enabling teachers from across the country to participate. CBSE’s phased schedule allows flexibility, encouraging wider participation and ensuring consistent teacher training. The programme also promotes interdisciplinary learning by teaching educators how to integrate AI with other subjects.
