Guwahati: The Assam Government has sanctioned and released Rs 210.50 crore to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).
This financial allocation was made under Grant No 76. It is part of the Assam Government’s ongoing efforts to support developmental activities in the Sixth Schedule areas of the state.
This marks the implementation of the consolidated SOPD-G scheme at KAAC during the first six months of FY 2025-26. The funds will be placed at the disposal of KAAC through a transfer credit to the Council fund.
The release of funds comes with a detailed set of financial, administrative and procedural guidelines.
The council will ensure compliance with the Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Funds Rule 1952. It will follow all norms, circulars and financial management principles set by the GoI and the Assam Government.
The Council will also table the CAG report in its House once received. It will carry out quarterly inspections of the schemes being implemented.
All expenditures must adhere to HADP guidelines. The funds are to be used solely for the schemes for which they have been allocated.
The schemes must be executed by the respective line departments under the strict supervision of the Council. There will be technical sanctions obtained wherever necessary.
