New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a new online application system, replacing its previous One-Time Registration (OTR) platform.
The new portal will be mandatory for aspirants applying for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exam-II, 2025, and the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Exam-II, 2025. UPSC has made it clear that applications for these exams will not be accepted through the old OTR system.
The redesigned portal introduces a four-module structure to streamline the application process:
Account Creation: Aspirants must first create an account to access the system.
Universal Registration: This step gathers personal and identification details that will apply to all exams.
Common Application Form (CAF): This section allows candidates to enter and save standard information applicable across various exams.
Examination Module: This final section includes exam-specific forms, active notifications, and real-time status tracking.
Modules one to three can be completed and updated before any exam notification is released, allowing candidates to avoid last-minute delays. The commission has strongly advised candidates to use their Aadhaar card for identity verification to simplify the authentication process.
Additionally, document upload has been made mandatory. Once verified, the uploaded documents will serve as a permanent record for all future UPSC exams. The UPSC has officially phased out the earlier OTR system.
Candidates are required to register again using the new portal and upload necessary documents afresh. Without this, they will not be able to apply for any upcoming exams.
To prevent server congestion and other technical issues close to deadlines, candidates have been urged to complete the first three steps well in advance. The portal provides detailed instructions and guidance to help users navigate the system.
