Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh government has launched a Rs 6519 crore initiative to modernise the state’s power infrastructure.
This will help reduce losses and ensure a stable and efficient electricity supply in the state.
The plan includes a Rs 788 crore allocation to reduce aggregate technical and commercial (AT & C) losses that have long impeded efficient power distribution, especially in the remote areas.
The key initiatives will include the deployment of smart meters, the creation of modernised power grids and real-time monitoring systems.
The government will provide gap funding for these initiatives. This will be to safeguard public finances from the burden of large-scale investments.
These will hopefully streamline power usage, minimise wastage and offer consumers better transparency and control over electricity consumption.
