ACSEL Technology Forum Launches ‘Avinya’ AI Startup Accelerator to Boost Startup Growth

Bengaluru: The ACSEL Technology Forum, under the aegis of the IIT Alumni Centre, Bengaluru (IITACB), has launched Avinya, a 16-week accelerator programme for early-stage AI startups. 

Supported by the Karnataka government through its IT/BT Department, the initiative is designed to nurture innovation, resilience, and responsible entrepreneurship.

Focus on Innovation and Wellness

Derived from the Sanskrit word for innovation, Avinya aims to go beyond conventional accelerators by offering structured mentorship, global networking, leadership coaching, and mental health support for founders. 

ESG integration will also be a core element, helping startups embed sustainability and accountability into their operations.

Seed Funding and Growth Opportunities

Each cohort will include 10 selected startups that will receive seed funding of Rs 10 lakh. High-performing ventures will have access to follow-on investments of up to Rs 10 million. 

The programme also offers co-working spaces, pilot testing opportunities, and operational support to help startups scale efficiently.

Customised Learning Tracks Across Sectors

The accelerator will provide customised learning tracks in key domains such as FinTech, HealthTech, and Climate Tech. Startups will also gain access to IIT alumni expertise, international partnerships, and industry networks.

Selection Criteria and Inclusion

Applications are open to AI startups at the MVP to seed stage, with 2–10 members and at least two full-time founders. Selection will be based on team strength, market opportunity, innovation, and impact. 

Diversity remains a priority, with special focus on women-led ventures, climate-positive solutions, and startups from underrepresented geographies.
