New Delhi: The University of Delhi (DU) has entered into a multi-year collaboration with Google Cloud to integrate artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics into its academic framework. The initiative aims to prepare students for careers in emerging technology fields and strengthen India’s digital workforce.
Under the partnership, DU students will gain access to Google Cloud’s specialized curriculum, hands-on labs, and industry-recognized certifications. Training pathways will cover AI, generative AI, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies. Faculty development programs and credit-based learning modules are also planned to embed these courses into the university’s teaching structure.
The collaboration extends beyond classroom learning, offering mentorship and technical assistance to student-led startups. Google Cloud will provide cloud credits and organize campus-wide hackathons and webinars to encourage innovation and problem-solving. These initiatives are intended to foster entrepreneurial thinking among students and align academic learning with industry demands.
The partnership will also introduce NotebookLM, Google Cloud’s AI-driven study assistant, to help students manage coursework and research. Additionally, Google Workspace for Education will be adopted to enhance collaboration and digital engagement across campuses.
With over six million students enrolled across more than 90 affiliated colleges, DU’s adoption of this model underscores a wider trend in Indian higher education, where universities are increasingly collaborating with technology firms to modernize curricula and strengthen employability in fast-evolving sectors.
