New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the appointments of two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers under the Central Staffing Scheme, boosting administrative leadership at the central level. Accordingly, IAS Grace Lalrindiki Pachuau (2014 batch), belonging to the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).Â
Her tenure will last four years from the date she assumes charge or until further orders. Pachuau, currently Additional Secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, has been directed to be relieved of her current role immediately. A graduate of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, she holds an LL.B. degree.
In another appointment, IAS Ratan Biswas, a 2013-batch officer of the Tripura cadre, has been posted as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) for Tripura. His posting will be at the Deputy Secretary level under the Central Staffing Scheme. At present, Biswas is serving as Secretary at the Police Accountability Commission in Tripura.
According to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Biswas’s tenure will continue until December 31, 2025, or until further orders. The DoPT has asked the Tripura government to relieve him immediately so that he can take up his new charge.
These postings come as part of the Centre’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and administrative efficiency across ministries and departments.
