Gurugram: The Gurugram District Administration, in collaboration with Comviva, the Management & Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council (MEPSC), and Sanshil Foundation for Welfare, has launched a programme to provide IT and job-oriented training to girl students. The initiative will be implemented at Government Girls College, Sector 14, Gurugram, where the first batch of 50 students will begin training under the Office Operations Executive course. The 390-hour programme is designed to integrate employability skills with academic studies, with MEPSC responsible for curriculum design, assessments and certification.
As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, Comviva has supported the college with a 28-seater computer lab and a 30-seater training room. Sanshil Foundation, the CSR implementation partner, will coordinate with MEPSC and establish a library-cum-study centre in Sarmathla village to extend learning resources to a wider community. Officials said the initiative aims to prepare girl students with essential IT skills that can enhance their employability and open opportunities in competitive fields.
According to Ajay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, the collaboration is intended to strengthen the link between academic education and professional readiness. Gaurav Singh, Additional CEO of CSR Trust Haryana, noted that such partnerships between government, corporates, and academia can create a sustainable framework for skill development. The initiative is expected to address the employability gap among young women while contributing to long-term workforce participation and local economic growth.
