New Delhi: In a major step toward sustainable infrastructure, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has partnered with CtrlS Datacenter to develop up to 2 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity.
The collaboration marks a significant move in India’s renewable energy landscape, highlighting the increasing trend of data center companies securing clean energy to power their operations.
Data centers are among the most energy-intensive facilities, and this partnership aims to reduce their carbon footprint while ensuring a reliable green power supply. The initiative supports India’s broader goals of transitioning to cleaner energy sources and building environmentally responsible digital infrastructure.
As the demand for data center services continues to rise across India, such partnerships are expected to play a key role in balancing rapid digital growth with sustainability.
Although financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed, the scale of the project indicates a strong commitment from both companies to sustainable development. The partnership not only strengthens CtrlS Datacenter’s environmental credentials but also reinforces NTPC Green Energy’s position as a major player in India’s clean energy expansion.
If implemented successfully, this initiative could accelerate India’s journey toward a greener digital economy, demonstrating how cross-sector collaboration can drive progress in both renewable energy and data infrastructure.
