New Delhi: The Government of India has approved the re-designation of the post of Private Secretary (Deputy Secretary level) to the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, held by IAS Shinde Deepak Arjun (2012 batch).
The post has been elevated to the Private Secretary (Director level) position as a measure personal to the officer.
According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, the upgrade will take effect from January 1, 2026, or from the date he assumes charge of the re-designated post, whichever is later. Shinde will serve in the elevated role till August 31, 2027, completing the five-year admissible tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Shinde’s central deputation in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways began on September 1, 2022. The order has been communicated to the ministry, Ministry of Home Affairs, and other concerned authorities for necessary action.
