Bengaluru: The Government of Karnataka has signed an MoU with Taiwan-based Allegiance International Co. Ltd. to establish an Industrial Technology Innovation Park (ITIP) in the state. The initiative is positioned to support Karnataka’s growing electronics and semiconductor ecosystem by enabling deeper collaboration with Taiwanese manufacturers.
As per the Department of Electronics, IT, Bt and S&T, the Allegiance Group plans to invest about Rs 1,000 crore in the project, which is expected to generate roughly 800 direct jobs over five years. The proposed park will serve as a dedicated base for Taiwanese companies operating in electronics, semiconductor components, PCB manufacturing and chip design. Government officials said the project aligns with national priorities focused on expanding domestic manufacturing capacity and strengthening supply-chain resilience.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and senior state leadership, who noted that the partnership is aimed at building specialised infrastructure and attracting technology-focused investments rather than announcing promotional commitments. The initiative also includes provisions for skill development and collaboration with academic institutions to address talent requirements in advanced manufacturing and R&D.
Allegiance Group executives said the park will help Taiwanese firms scale operations in India and engage more effectively with local supply chains. The state government sees this as part of a broader strategy to develop future-ready industrial clusters and enhance Karnataka’s competitiveness in high-value technology sectors.
