Kolkata: The West Bengal government has launched a trade receivable portal to streamline receivables in a time-bound manner for the trading community.
72 financial institutions will be subsequently linked to the portal.
This was announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the Byabsayi Sammelan organised by the Confederation of West Bengal Trade Associations (CWBTA).
The West Bengal government would set up two trade and export facilitation centres in Kolkata and Siliguri.
The state would also create a B2B hub in those centres to promote products related to GI. Currently, West Bengal has 36 GI-tagged products, including the likes of Darjeeling tea, Nakshikatha, Himsagar mango, Gobindobhog rice, Tulai Panji rice and Sundarban honey, among others.
The government is also setting up a traders’ welfare board, which will meet once a month.
It will have a single-window system and all district chambers should participate in it.
The CM has urged the trading community to develop malls in all district headquarters.
