New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of central deputation tenure for two senior officers, IAS Nirupama J. Dange and IAS Pooja Pandey, currently serving under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Dange (2007 batch), belonging to the Maharashtra cadre, has been granted an extension of her central deputation for a total tenure of five years, up to December 19, 2027, or until further orders. She is currently serving as the Director of Census Operations and the Director of Citizen Registration for Maharashtra. The post held by Dange will continue to remain upgraded to the level of Joint Secretary up to August 20, 2026. This marks the third consecutive year of upgradation of her position.
In a similar decision, Pooja Pandey (2008 batch), belonging to the Assam Meghalaya cadre, has also received approval for extension of her central deputation tenure. Her deputation will now run for an overall period of five years, up to March 16, 2027, or until further orders. Pandey is serving as Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration for Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. The upgradation of her post to the Joint Secretary level will continue during the third year of her tenure as well.
The approvals were issued by the Department of Personnel and Training. The decisions followed proposals submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, keeping in view administrative requirements and continuity in key census and citizen registration roles.
