New Delhi: The Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 will commence today at Yashobhoomi, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss the future of the electricity sector.
The four-day event, scheduled from March 19 to 22, is being positioned as one of the largest global platforms dedicated to power and energy.
Large-Scale Global Participation
The Summit is expected to host over 100 conference sessions and more than 300 speakers, with participation from representatives of over 80 countries. The event will also feature more than 500 exhibitors, including over 100 startups, and is likely to attract upwards of 25,000 visitors.
Ministers and representatives from more than 25 Indian states and Union Territories will also be attending, alongside top executives from central power sector enterprises.
Focus on Growth and Sustainability
The Summit is themed ‘Electrifying Growth. Empowering Sustainability. Connecting Globally,’ and will feature strategic and technical sessions, leadership panels, and industry-focused discussions. Key topics include strengthening global electricity networks, accelerating clean energy adoption, and building resilient supply chains.
Discussions will also explore investment opportunities, with the government estimating over Rs. 50 lakh crore in investments across power generation, transmission, distribution, and energy storage by 2032.
Boost to Make in India and Innovation
A major focus of the Summit is vendor development under the Make in India initiative. The event aims to promote indigenisation of technologies across emission systems, solar energy, energy storage, transmission infrastructure, and digital distribution.
The Summit will also serve as a platform for startups and innovators to showcase emerging technologies and solutions, encouraging competitiveness and technological advancement in the sector.
Exhibition and Technology Showcase
A large-scale exhibition spread across 20,000 square metres forms a key component of the event. It features thematic zones covering power generation, renewable energy, transmission, smart grids, and energy storage.
Dedicated sections for startups and emerging technologies will highlight advancements in battery storage, digital systems and energy efficiency. These zones are expected to facilitate collaboration between manufacturers, investors and technology developers.
International Collaboration and Future Outlook
The Summit includes several international collaboration sessions involving global institutions and partners. Special discussions, such as Africa-focused sessions and industry dialogues like CableTech 2026, will address emerging opportunities in the sector.
Overall, the event aims to bring together stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and finance to shape the next phase of growth in India’s electricity ecosystem while strengthening its role in the global energy transition.
