Chandigarh: The Haryana government has announced a key administrative reshuffle, appointing IAS Pankaj Agarwal as Principal Secretary of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department.
He replaces IAS Anurag Agarwal, who has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Town and Country Planning and Urban Estates Department.
Pankaj Agarwal previously held important portfolios, including Principal Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, as well as Mines and Geology. He will continue to serve as Principal Secretary, Mines and Geology, alongside his new responsibilities. Additionally, he has been appointed Advisor to the Haryana Saraswati Heritage Board.
Meanwhile, Anurag Agarwal, who earlier served as ACS of Public Works (B&R) and Architecture, and ACS of Irrigation and Water Resources, will now oversee urban planning and development in the state.
The reshuffle reflects the government’s focus on strengthening governance and optimising administrative efficiency across key departments.
