Bharuch: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 139 development projects worth about Rs. 1,350 crore in Bharuch district, covering sectors such as infrastructure, transport, sports, and public service facilities.
The announcements were made at a programme held at the Swaminarayan Temple Complex. During the event, the chief minister inaugurated 66 projects worth Rs. 102 crore and laid the foundation stones for 73 additional projects valued at Rs. 1,248.57 crore. Together, the initiatives amount to a total investment of Rs. 1,350.68 crore aimed at strengthening infrastructure and public services in the district.
One of the key projects is the proposed first- ever Bulk Drug Park, which will be developed in Jambusar, marking a major milestone for Gujarat’s pharmaceutical and chemical industries.Â
A high-speed corridor between Ankleshwar and Rajpipla will also be developed. The 44-km road will be upgraded at an estimated cost of Rs. 760 crore to improve regional connectivity and ease travel towards the Statue of Unity, a major tourist destination.
The state government has also initiated work on airport development in Ankleshwar to improve connectivity with nearby industrial hubs, including Dahej and Saykha. The project is expected to support industrial growth and logistics in the region.
To boost local trade and visitor facilities, commercial shopping center-cum-rest houses will be built in Bharuch, Netrang, Rajpardi, and Jambusar for Rs. 50 crore.
Facilities for pilgrims undertaking the Narmada Parikrama will also be expanded with the construction of eight rest halls across Bharuch and Jhagadia.
In addition, four renovated Jan Seva Kendras were inaugurated to improve access to government services, while 64 new panchayat houses have been constructed in rural areas to strengthen local governance infrastructure.
