New Delhi: NMDC Limited, formerly National Mineral Development Corporation, has announced the appointment of Krishna Kumar Thakur as Director (Personnel) on its Board.
The appointment was formalised by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. He will serve for a tenure of five years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders.
Thakur brings over 25 years of experience in human resources and administration across Indian Railways and Central Public Sector Undertakings. His appointment is expected to strengthen NMDC’s organisational efficiency and talent management strategies.
Before joining NMDC, he served as Director (Human Resources) at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited from July 2023. He is a 1998 batch officer of the Indian Railway Personnel Service and has held several key HR leadership roles during his career.
Thakur has managed HR operations for around 35,000 personnel in the Mumbai Railway Division and led large-scale recruitment drives as Chairman of the Railway Recruitment Cell, Western Railway, hiring nearly 12,000 employees. He has also headed HR departments in Solapur, Bhopal, and Mumbai divisions, focusing on transparency and employee welfare.
Thakur has contributed to both international and domestic projects, including assignments with RITES Limited in Saudi Arabia and policy development at Konkan Railway Corporation Limited. He is known for maintaining strong industrial relations and implementing long-term organisational improvements.
