Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has approved a unified digital monitoring platform to manage distributed renewable energy projects across the state.
The new Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) Projects Monitoring Tool, approved by the Project e-Governance Mission Team of the state, will be implemented by Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd.
IAS Ajitabh Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy), said the platform will integrate implementation, monitoring, and approval processes that are currently handled through multiple systems and manual procedures. The move comes as the state sees rapid growth in decentralised renewable energy programmes such as rooftop solar and government building solarisation.
At present, the absence of a unified system often leads to delays in approvals, duplication of processes and limited tracking of power generation. Consumers and businesses frequently face difficulties navigating multiple portals and securing approvals from different departments and power distribution companies.
Rohit Gupta, CMD of RRECL, said the new system will offer real-time data visibility and centralised monitoring. It will also provide a comprehensive management information system to support policymakers and utilities in decision-making.
For households and small businesses, the platform is expected to simplify the adoption of rooftop solar and other distributed energy solutions. Users will be able to apply, track approvals, and monitor installations through a single interface.
The initiative is seen as a key step towards improving consumer experience, strengthening industry operations, and accelerating renewable energy adoption across the state.
