Mumbai, Apr 2 (APAC Media): In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has announced key transfers and postings of senior IAS officers across departments. The highlight of the reshuffle is the appointment of IAS Lokesh Chandra as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister.
IAS Lokesh Chandra (1993 batch) was previously serving as Chairman and Managing Director of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
A Civil Engineering graduate with an M.Tech in Structures from IIT Delhi, he has held several important positions in both the state and central governments, including roles in the Ministry of Steel and Ministry of Power between 2008 and 2015.
The other IAS transfers in the state are as follows:
- IAS Vikas Chandra Rastogi, presently Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture), has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary (Financial Reforms) in the Finance Department.
- IAS Parimal Singh, presently Project Director of the Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivanee Project in Mumbai, has been appointed as Secretary (Agriculture).
- IAS Tukaram Mundhe, presently Secretary in the Divyang Kalyan Department, has been posted as Secretary, Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation, Revenue and Forest Department.
- IAS Manik Gursal has been appointed as Secretary, Divyang Kalyan Department, replacing Tukaram Mundhe.
- IAS Lahu Mali has been posted as Managing Director of the Shivshahi Punarvasan Project.
- IAS Prerna Deshbhratar, presently Sales Tax Joint Commissioner, has been appointed as Commissioner of Fisheries.
- IAS Prithviraj B.P., presently Additional Municipal Commissioner in Pune Municipal Corporation, has been posted as Municipal Commissioner of the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation.
The reshuffle reflects the state government’s focus on administrative efficiency and strengthening governance across key sectors.
