Patna, June 23 (APAC Media): The Bihar government has launched the VB-G Ram Ji Scheme starting from July 1.
Under this scheme beneficiaries will receive 125 days of guaranteed employment every year.
The scheme is expected to boost rural employment and provide greater income security to families across the state.
According to Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, it will help reduce seasonal unemployment and strengthen livelihoods in villages.
A major focus of the programme is the empowerment of Jeevika Didis and women self-help groups.
The government plans to develop modern rural haats (village markets), create national-level networks for women entrepreneurs, and improve market access for products made in villages.
These steps are aimed at promoting rural businesses and increasing women’s participation in economic activities.
The scheme will also support rural development through modern infrastructure and technology.
Plans include storage facilities for agricultural produce, improved supply chains and warehousing systems, and digital and technical support.
Officials say these measures will help reduce crop losses and give farmers better access to markets.
Training for Effective Implementation
The programme was discussed during a training session held at Adhiveshan Bhawan.
Deputy Development Commissioners and District Programme Officers attended the event.
Officials emphasized the need for proper planning and efficient implementation at the district level.
Bihar First to Adopt the Framework
Officials said Bihar has become the first state in the country to implement the VB-G Ram Ji framework.
The initiative is aimed at creating structured employment while improving rural livelihoods.
Minister Seeks Support from Centre
During the programme, Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar urged the Centre to ensure a uniform wage structure across states and release pending funds at the earliest.
He said timely financial support would be essential for the scheme’s success.
Centre Provides ₹6,715 Crore
Sanjay Kumar, Director in the Union Rural Development Ministry, said Bihar’s progress is crucial to achieving the goal of a developed India.
He also announced that the Centre has provided ₹6,715 crore as interim funding for the remaining nine months of the current financial year.
A Wider Push for Rural Growth
Beyond providing guaranteed employment, the VB-G Ram Ji Scheme seeks to strengthen women’s livelihoods, improve agricultural infrastructure, and expand rural markets.
Through these measures, the government hopes to boost economic activity and create sustainable development across Bihar’s villages.
