Gandhinagar, June 23 (APAC Media): The Gujarat government has assigned new responsibilities to IAS Rajesh Manjhu and IAS Yogesh Nirgude following the transfer of IAS Alok Kumar Pandey.
The move is aimed at ensuring smooth functioning of key departments until regular appointments are made.
IAS Rajesh Manjhu Takes Over Key Posts
Currently serving as Revenue Inspection Commissioner and Ex-officio Secretary in the Revenue Department, IAS Rajesh Manjhu has been given additional charge as:
- Commissioner of Relief
- Ex-officio Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department
- Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA)
These posts were earlier held by Alok Kumar Pandey. The arrangement will remain in place until further orders.
Crucial Role in Disaster Management
With the additional charge of GSDMA CEO, IAS Rajesh Manjhu will oversee one of Gujarat’s most important institutions.
GSDMA plays a vital role in disaster preparedness, emergency response, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts, climate resilience measures, and coordination with state and district authorities during natural calamities.
As Commissioner of Relief, he will also supervise relief and rehabilitation operations across the state.
IAS Yogesh Nirgude Gets Additional Responsibility
In a separate order, the state government has entrusted IAS Yogesh Nirgude with an additional assignment.
Currently serving as Additional Development Commissioner, Gandhinagar, he has been given charge as Commissioner, Youth Services and Cultural Activities.
The responsibility was also being handled earlier by Alok Kumar Pandey. The arrangement will continue until fresh orders are issued.
Government Focuses on Continuity
The latest reshuffle is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted functioning of important departments and institutions.
By assigning additional responsibilities to experienced officers, the Gujarat government has sought to maintain continuity in:
- Revenue administration
- Disaster management
- Relief operations
- Youth development programmes
- Cultural affairs
Officials said the temporary arrangements would continue until regular appointments are made.
