However, gains remained limited due to continued volatility in international bullion markets and uncertainty over interest rate trajectories in major economies.
Silver prices also moved within a narrow range, with retail rates in Delhi hovering around ₹250 per gram, or roughly ₹250,000 per kilogram. Traders noted that silver continues to exhibit higher volatility compared to gold, largely due to its dual role as both an industrial metal and a precious asset.
Bullion dealers across major trading centres reported steady footfall from retail buyers, though sentiment remains cautious amid price swings.
Jewellers indicated that domestic demand is being driven primarily by wedding-related purchases, while investment demand has been uneven.
Analysts said global cues, including central bank policy signals and fluctuations in crude oil and currency markets, are expected to keep bullion prices range-bound in the near term. They added that while gold remains supported by its safe-haven appeal, sustained upside will depend on clearer macroeconomic direction.
Overall, the June 12 session reflected a stable but cautious bullion market, with gold holding firm after recent dips and silver continuing to trade with heightened sensitivity to global developments.
