Shimla, June 1 (APAC Media): The Himachal Pradesh government on Monday assigned senior IAS officer Kamlesh Kumar Pant the additional charge of Chief Secretary with immediate effect.Â
According to an official notification issued by the Department of Personnel, the appointment was approved by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh in the public interest.
Continuing Existing Responsibilities
Pant is a 1993-batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre.
Currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue)-cum-Financial Commissioner (Revenue), Pant also holds charge of the Forest, Home, and Vigilance departments. In addition, he serves as the Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board in Shimla.
The order specified that he would assume the additional role of Chief Secretary with immediate effect alongside his present duties.
Appointment Ordered in Public Interest
The notification, issued by M. Sudha Devi, Secretary (Personnel) to the Himachal Pradesh Government, said the Governor was pleased to approve the appointment in the public interest.
With the latest appointment, Pant will now oversee the responsibilities of the Chief Secretary in addition to his existing portfolio.
