Bengaluru, June 19 (APAC Media): The Karnataka government has reshuffled 16 IAS officers, making key changes across several departments.
The exercise includes new leadership at KSRTC and BMTC, along with fresh postings in education, health, tourism, agriculture and rural development.
KSRTC, BMTC Get New Chiefs
One of the biggest highlights of the reshuffle is the change in leadership at Karnataka’s two major transport corporations.
IAS Sivakumar K.B., who was heading the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), has been appointed Managing Director of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
He has been replaced by IAS Raghunandan Murthy, who will head the BMTC while continuing to hold additional charge as Commissioner of Treasuries.
Secretaries Get New Assignments
IAS Sameer Shukla, Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, has been appointed Resident Commissioner, Karnataka Bhavan, New Delhi.
He replaces IAS Imkongla Jamir M., who has been posted as Secretary (Coordination), Karnataka Bhavan.
IAS Dr. Prasad N.V. has been appointed Secretary, Backward Classes Welfare Department.
IAS Thulasi Maddineni has been transferred as Secretary, Higher Education Department.
IAS Randeep D. has been given additional charge as Secretary (Panchayat Raj) in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.
Major Manivannan Gets Additional Charge
Senior officer IAS Major Manivannan P., Commissioner of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), has been entrusted with the additional charge of Commissioner, Directorate of Urban Land Transport.
The move puts him in charge of key urban mobility initiatives in Bengaluru.
Tourism Department Gets New Commissioner
IAS Ram Prasath Manohar V., Managing Director of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited, has been assigned additional charge as Commissioner of Tourism.
Akram Pasha Moves to National Health Mission
Former KSRTC Managing Director IAS Akram Pasha has been appointed Mission Director of the National Health Mission and Directorate of Health.
He will oversee major public health programmes and healthcare initiatives across the state.
Agriculture and MSME Departments See Changes
IAS Sateesha B.C. has been appointed Commissioner of Agriculture.
Meanwhile, IAS Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar has been posted as Director, MSME, Commerce and Industries Department.
Municipal Administration Gets New Director
IAS Nitish K. has been appointed Director of Municipal Administration.
He will also hold additional charge as Special Commissioner (Health and Education) of the Greater Bengaluru Authority.
New Posting in Bagalkot
Young officer IAS Gajanan Bale has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat, Bagalkot.
He will also hold concurrent charge related to the Upper Krishna Project.
